Moorisha Bey-Taylor's Bio

Moorisha Bey-Taylor named one of the “Top Lawyers Under 40” by the National Bar Association is an award-winning Intellectual Property and Entertainment Attorney who works closely with creatives to bring their brands to the utmost potential. Their practice is deeply woven into the fabric of the Los Angeles Art and LBGTQIA+ community, where Moorisha helps creators and others on licensing deals, IP prosecution, and a variety of other contracts that affect an artist's day to day work. Their work consists of intellectual property protection, entertainment law, trademarks, copyright, NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness), cease and desist, brand collaborations, and contracts. Bey-Taylor's clients include civil rights activists, social media influencers, fashion designers, athletes, visual artists, musicians and trailblazing thought leaders globally. Bey-Taylor has spoken at the National Bar Association, American Bar Association, numerous colleges and universities including: Spelman College, Howard University, Seattle University School of Law, and UC San Diego becoming a sought after resource for their thought leadership and innovation in the field of Intellectual Property Law. 


They have been recognized by the California Lawyers Association (Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services); Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, Inc. (Outstanding Service & Leadership Award); Urban League of Los Angeles Young Professionals (Community Empowerment and Changemaker Award), and the University of California, San Diego (2008 Outstanding Senior Award). Bey-Taylor is also a recipient of Oregon Law’s Outstanding Recent Alumni Award. This recognition is given to law school graduates who have made significant career, leadership, or service contributions to their communities, to the School of Law and the legal profession within the first 10 years after graduation.

Moorisha is currently serving and has served five consecutive terms on the Board of Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Inc.  and is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Santa Monica College. Moorisha received their Bachelor of Science from the University of California of San Diego, and their law degree from University of Oregon.
